Come to my Election Night Party!

Dear Colorado Voter,

Almost 25% of active voters have returned a ballot according to the Secretary of State. If the same number of voters cast ballots this year as four years ago, then almost 40% of the ballots have already been cast.

I’m on radio, in newspapers and in digital media. The best outreach, though, is personal contacts so please keep telling people about my candidacy.

I got very little coverage in The Colorado Sun, Colorado Public Radio and Colorado Politics voter guides. In fact, the October 2nd special VOTErs Guide issue of Colorado Politics discusses the upcoming debate for only the major-party Secretary of State (SoS) candidates on page 2, features the Democratic and Republican SoS candidates on pages 27 and 31, and then – surprise! – on page 38 columnist Paula Noonan calls the Colorado news outlets “desultory, even derelict” for not reporting on “the full range of substantive candidates” and gives me a shout-out.

As I mentioned in a previous email, I appreciate the organizations that invited me to fill out their candidate questionnaires. I filled in questionnaires for organizations based in Grand Junction (https://www.restorethebalance.org/candidate-ratings-2026) and in Colorado Springs (https://churchvoterguides.org/) that my Democratic opponent chose not to answer. I filled in the League of Women Voters of Colorado (https://www.vote411.org/) questionnaire that my Republican opponent chose not to answer.

On Sunday 60 Minutes had a segment on Tina Peters, Donald Trump and Jared Polis. It did not say anything new, but it was broadcast to a national audience and does remind people of the important job that the SoS has.

We’d love to see you at Foolish Craig’s on Election Night as we learn about federal, state and local election results! I’m very interested in the Longmont ballot measures to adopt simplified election cycles and ranked voting (especially multi-winner proportional ranked voting). https://www.rcvforlongmont.org/

Our party will go from 6:30pm to about 10:30pm. Foolish Craig’s is at 1611 Pearl Street. https://www.foolishcraigs.com/ (Uni Hill Elementary friends, the owner of Foolish Craig’s is the dad of Uni Hill graduates.) A rough head count would be very helpful so we have enough food, but don’t let not responding to this email (to newsletter@celeste4sos.com) keep you from joining us.

With enthusiasm and purpose,

Celeste
